Since 2014, Shao-Ning has been leading what she terms “a portfolio life” of being an angel investor, start-up advisor and most importantly a mother (to four boys, 3 to 15) She has 18 seed/pre-A series investments in her family angel portfolio. Separately, she works with EntrepreneurFirst in mentoring and advising deep technology start-ups; and also as a managing partner with Hub Venture Fund, focusing on preseed/seed level investments. She also volunteers as a consultant with EDIS Cares that focuses on improving literacy and development for the underprivileged children in Singapore. Whenever she can, she tries her best to support all entrepreneurship programs, especially for women start ups.
Previously, Shao-Ning was the Managing Director/ Group Deputy CEO of JobsCentral Group (Now CareerBuilder Singapore) She started the company as a fresh graduate in 2000, grew it from a two-person team to 150-pax regional business, and sold it in 2011 to the US market leader, CareerBuilder. In 2015 she started a web-based video platform to promote women’s confidence but sadly had to shut it down due to partner incompatibility. She is sure she will start another business someday, but for now, her focus is to be relevant and pay it forward, helping wherever she can.
